Facebook has launched the sixth edition of its pan-African “Made by Africa, loved by the world” campaign, placing African cinema and storytelling firmly in the spotlight.
Titled Where stories spark community, the 2026 campaign celebrates the growing global influence of African film and the creatives driving the continent’s storytelling renaissance.
African Cinema Takes Centre Stage
This year’s campaign unfolds through a five-part vodcast series featuring some of Africa’s most recognised actors and filmmakers from Nigeria and South Africa. The series is hosted by Nigerian podcast duo I Said What I Said and South African creators Because We Said So.
The campaign shines a spotlight on how African creatives are using digital platforms to build communities, grow audiences and amplify authentic African stories globally.
According to Kezia Anim-Addo, film was a natural focus for this year’s edition.
“From Nollywood to South African cinema, African stories are reaching audiences worldwide, and Facebook is at the heart of how people come together around cultural moments like these,” she said.
Celebrating Africa’s Storytelling Talent
The campaign profiles five acclaimed African talents making waves both locally and internationally.

The award-winning Nigerian actress has earned recognition through her work in Netflix and Amazon Prime productions, while also lending her voice to Disney’s Iwaju.

Podcasts Driving African Conversations
The vodcast series explores each creative’s personal journey, global influence and the role social media platforms play in connecting African storytellers with audiences worldwide.
Podcast hosts FK Abudu and Jola Ayeye from I Said What I Said described the collaboration as an opportunity to celebrate African creatives with global impact.
Meanwhile, South African hosts Zama Marubelela and Landzy Gama of Because We Said So said the campaign aligns with their passion for amplifying authentic African voices and culture.
#ShareYourAfrica Returns
As part of the initiative, Facebook is also reviving its #ShareYourAfrica community challenge, encouraging creators across fashion, dance and lifestyle to use Meta AI tools and Reels to celebrate African identity, traditions and creativity.
The campaign aims to showcase a modern Africa shaped by innovation, culture and storytelling — while reinforcing the continent’s growing influence in global entertainment.
Vodcast snippets will be shared on the Meta Africa Facebook page, with full episodes available via the featured podcasts and creators’ platforms.
