Inside Coca-Cola’s New Global Identity

When one of the world’s most iconic brands refreshes its identity, the marketing world pays attention.

In an era where consumers engage with brands across physical stores, digital platforms and social media, consistency has become a key competitive advantage.

For a brand as globally recognised as Coca-Cola, updating its identity is rarely about changing how it looks. Instead, it’s about strengthening how consumers recognise, experience and connect with the brand.

The Coca-Cola Company has done so by unveiling its refreshed global brand identity. Rather than introducing a completely new logo or visual direction, Coca-Cola has refined its most recognisable brand assets to create a more consistent brand experience across more than 200 markets worldwide.

Making Coca-Cola More Coca-Cola

The refreshed identity builds on Coca-Cola’s most iconic visual assets instead of replacing them. The bold red-and-white colour palette, the uplifting Dynamic Ribbon, the distinctive Arden Square and the unmistakable Spencerian script will now feature more prominently across packaging, retail environments, branded equipment and digital experiences.

“Coca-Cola is one of the most recognised brands in the world, and with that comes a responsibility to keep evolving,” said Arnab Roy, President of Coca-Cola Global Category.

“This refresh is about being clearer and more consistent in how we show up, wherever people experience our brand. By building on the things people already know and love, we’re creating a stronger foundation for growth while staying unmistakably Coca-Cola.”

The goal is not to reinvent the brand, but to reinforce the visual cues that have made Coca-Cola instantly recognisable for generations.

A New Look for Coca-Cola Zero Sugar

As part of the refresh, Coca-Cola has also introduced a clearer visual identity for Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, making it easier for consumers to navigate the brand portfolio while maintaining a strong connection to the master brand.

The updated design draws inspiration from Coca-Cola’s iconic heritage while introducing distinctive elements unique to Zero Sugar. These include larger “Zero Sugar” typography, a prominent black Dynamic Ribbon on cans and a black bottle cap on PET packaging, creating stronger shelf recognition without losing its association with the Coca-Cola family.

The Growing Role of AI in Brand Management

Beyond the visual updates, the refresh also demonstrates how artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly valuable tool in modern brand management.

According to Coca-Cola, AI is being used behind the scenes to help manage large-scale design systems, enabling the company to maintain consistency across global markets while preserving the heritage and visual identity that have made the brand iconic.

To support this effort, Coca-Cola has introduced a new Brand Center and Design Intelligence tools for designers, marketers and agency partners worldwide.

These technology-powered platforms are designed to improve collaboration, streamline brand governance and ensure the refreshed identity is implemented consistently and accurately across every market.
