Applications Now Open for the 2025 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow STEM Competition

Samsung has officially opened applications for 2025. Samsung Solve for Tomorrow STEM Competition. This nationwide initiative aims to empower high school learners by equipping them with critical STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills to address real-world challenges. With a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving, this competition offers learners a chance to develop their ideas while receiving mentorship and resources from industry professionals. Applications close on March 14, 2025.

Driving Innovation Among High School Learners

The Samsung Solve for Tomorrow STEM Competition fosters creativity and critical thinking among Grade 10 and 11 learners from underprivileged backgrounds. By encouraging students from public schools to participate, the competition aims to nurture South Africa’s next generation of problem-solvers.

Participants will be required to tackle real community challenges using STEM principles, improving their analytical skills while receiving professional guidance from Samsung employees. The most promising teams will have the opportunity to win exciting prizes and gain national recognition for their innovative solutions.

  • Innovative Transport Solutions for Learners in Rural/Township Schools – Design efficient and accessible transport systems to improve commuting for students in remote areas.
  • Affordable Safety Devices for Learners Traveling Long Distances – Create low-cost, effective tools to enhance student safety during daily commutes.

To qualify for the competition, teams must meet the following criteria:

  • Teams should consist of 2 to 5 learners.
  • Each team must select one of the three challenge areas to address.
  • Participants must be enrolled in a quintile 1–4 public school.
  • All applicants must be South African citizens.
