Suzuki Grand Vitara

New Suzuki Grand Vitara Review: Suzuki Steps Into Its Premium Era

There are cars that surprise you because they perform better than expected. Then there are cars that surprise you because they shift how you see the brand altogether. The new Suzuki Grand Vitara did the latter for me.

After spending time with it, I can confidently say this is the most stunning Suzuki I have reviewed so far. Not just because it looks good, but because it shows a different side of Suzuki — one that feels more mature, more premium and far more ambitious.

For a brand that has built a strong reputation around value, practicality and reliability, the Grand Vitara feels like Suzuki making a statement: we can do premium too.

First Impressions: A More Confident Suzuki

Suzuki Grand Vitara

From the outside, the Grand Vitara immediately stands out. It has presence. The design is sharp, clean and confident without trying too hard. It does not feel overdesigned, but it also does not fade into the background.

What impressed me most is how well the exterior and interior speak the same language. Sometimes a car looks premium from the outside, only for the cabin to feel like a compromise. With the Grand Vitara, that was not the case.

The premium look continues inside, and that consistency matters. It tells you that Suzuki did not only focus on making the car attractive from the outside. They thought about the full ownership experience.

Interior: Premium Feel, Practical Execution

Step inside the Grand Vitara and you immediately get the sense that Suzuki wanted to elevate the experience.

The leather interior gives the cabin a more refined feel, and the overall layout feels modern and comfortable. It is the kind of interior that makes you want to spend more time in the car, whether you are driving around the city, heading to meetings or taking a weekend drive.

One of my favourite features was the panoramic sunroof. It adds a sense of openness to the cabin and gives the car that lifestyle appeal that many buyers in this segment are looking for.

The Grand Vitara also comes with Apple CarPlay, which has become less of a luxury and more of an expectation in modern cars. It makes the driving experience easier, especially for someone who is constantly moving between meetings, calls, podcasts, music and navigation.

Another standout feature is the 360-degree camera. This is one of those features you appreciate more when you use it daily. Whether you are parking in a tight space, navigating a busy shopping centre or manoeuvring in traffic, it adds confidence and convenience.

The Drive: Smooth, Comfortable and Easy to Live With

On the road, the Grand Vitara drives beautifully.

It feels composed, comfortable and easy to handle. It is not trying to be a performance SUV, and that is perfectly fine. What it does well is deliver a smooth and pleasant driving experience.

For daily driving, the car feels well suited. It gives you comfort, visibility and enough refinement to make the drive feel effortless. There is a calmness to it that I enjoyed.

However, the automatic transmission does lag at times. That was the one thing that stood out as a weakness. It is not a deal-breaker, but it is noticeable, especially when you want the car to respond quickly. The lag slightly takes away from what is otherwise a polished driving experience.

Still, once the car settles, it drives well and feels dependable.

The Brand View: Suzuki Is Moving Up

From a brand perspective, the Grand Vitara is important.

Suzuki has always been known as a smart, practical and value-driven brand. Many people buy Suzuki because the cars make sense. They are reliable, accessible and easy to live with.

But the Grand Vitara adds another layer to that story.

It shows that Suzuki can produce a car that does not only make sense on paper, but also makes you feel something. It has design appeal. It has a premium look. It has features that make the experience feel elevated.

That is a powerful shift.

In a market where consumers are becoming more demanding, brands cannot rely on affordability alone. Buyers want value, but they also want aspiration. They want cars that are practical, but also look and feel good. The Grand Vitara sits nicely in that space.

It gives Suzuki a stronger presence in the minds of customers who may have previously seen the brand as reliable, but not necessarily premium.

Final Thoughts

The new Suzuki Grand Vitara is a beautiful step forward for the brand.

It is stylish on the outside, refined on the inside and packed with features that make it feel more premium than what many people may expect from Suzuki. The panoramic sunroof, Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera and leather interior all add to the experience.

Yes, the automatic transmission lag is something Suzuki could improve. But beyond that, this is a car that leaves a strong impression.

For me, the Grand Vitara proves that Suzuki is not only building cars that are practical and reliable. It is also building cars that can compete emotionally, visually and experientially.

And that is where brands truly begin to move up.

Drive With Pat verdict: The Suzuki Grand Vitara is the most premium-looking Suzuki I have reviewed so far, and it shows that the brand is ready to play in a more aspirational space.
