Cricket South Africa has announced a landmark multi-year partnership with Suzuki Auto South Africa. This new agreement makes Suzuki the official vehicle partner of Cricket South Africa and the official sponsor of the Proteas men’s and women’s One Day International teams. The deal marks the return of a headline sponsor for the national cricket teams for the first time since 2020.
This partnership represents a major boost for the sport and demonstrates Suzuki’s commitment to cricket development in South Africa. The company is stepping into a key role at a time when national support and strategic investment are essential for the growth of the game.
Suzuki Drives Grassroots Cricket Development
As part of the agreement Suzuki has donated 30 vehicles to Cricket South Africa’s Development Hubs. These hubs play a vital role in nurturing young talent and growing the sport at a community level. By providing these vehicles Suzuki is actively contributing to the accessibility and reach of cricket in underserved areas across the country.
In addition to this grassroots investment Suzuki has also supplied 12 vehicles directly to Cricket South Africa. These vehicles will assist in the organisation’s operations and logistics enabling them to better support both national and developmental cricket programs.
A New Era for the Proteas
The Proteas have been without a headline sponsor since Standard Bank ended its sponsorship in April 2020. The withdrawal followed internal governance issues within Cricket South Africa. Since then only associate sponsors have featured on the Proteas kit including Indian dairy brand Amul which appeared on the shirt sleeves during ICC events.
The new partnership with Suzuki signals a positive shift and renewed confidence in the national teams. It brings fresh momentum to both the men’s and women’s cricket programs and highlights a shared vision for excellence growth and unity in South African cricket.
