Huawei Band 6

Huawei Band 6 Review and Giveaway

Huawei has once again launched a spectacular product – the Huawei Band 6. It’s a smart wearable device that caters for almost every lifestyle, whether you a tech-savvy person and/or a fitness and wellness bunny like me you will find the device very useful.

The looks

As with any product reviewed on this platform, looks do matter. The Huawei Band 6 is beautifully design with some call it an “eye-candy arm band”. I personally like the minimalistic design. It has a 1.47-inch AMOLED FullView Display Screen, a 148% larger viewable area, and a low-bezel 64% screen-to-body ratio. Combine that with the high-resolution 194 x 368 display with 282 PPI.  It’s also comfortable to wear, regardless the activity you’re planning to do. The stylish colours of Graphite black and Sakura pink, coupled with the watch faces that you can customise whichever way you want, will add a bold touch to your workout outfit or chosen look for the day.

You definitely have something impressive to look at on your wrist.

Multiple workouts to choose from.

For someone whose active I found the Huawei Band 6 very useful. I used it record my runs, rides and walks. At the gym I also use it on the rowing machine as well as the elliptical machine. It also a rope jumping mode that monitors the number of jumps dad takes and provides accurate exercise data such as consecutive jumps. In total, it supports 96 sports modes.

Battery life for days

As with your smartphone, battery life on a wearable is also important but it all depends on how you use the device. The Huawei Band 6 promises an incredible 14 days battery life for “typical use” and 10 days of heavy use. I started using the device almost weeks ago and I had to charge it once. With just 5 minutes charging time, you can get up to 2 days.

Emphasis on heart health

Keeping an eye on your heart rate can be managed a lot better thanks to the TruSeen™ 4.0 heart rate monitoring technology. It uses an optical lens and AI-based data processing to accurately monitor your heart rate 24 hours a day. Be alerted instantly when your heart rate drops below or rises above safe levels.

Regular oxygen levels monitoring

The HUAWEI Band 6 has a built-in all-day SpO2 detection system that monitors your blood oxygen saturation. If it drops too low, the band will vibrate, so you can take time out to breathe and find balance.

Sleep tracking

HUAWEI TruSleep™2.0 is capable of detecting your stage of sleep, real-time heart rate and breathing rate, and produces a comprehensive analysis of your sleep quality from this data. The HUAWEI TruSleep™ 2.0 doesn’t just automatically calculate the duration of your sleep, it can also identify moments when you fell asleep and woke up and the proportion of light sleep to deep sleep and rapid eye movement (REM). This data can help the user accurately identify any of six typical sleep issues: insomnia, shallow sleep, night-time awakenings, early morning awakenings, excessive dreams and irregular sleep pattern.

Menstrual cycle tracking

Although this is irrelevant to me, I think ladies would find it interesting to know that the HUAWEI Band 6 comes with a menstrual cycle management and notification feature, specifically designed for female users. The data is useful for them to manage their food intake, pregnancy plan, fat burn, sleep, exercise, and stress. This pioneering feature allows women to log their period and refer directly to their own menstrual calendar to stay prepared for important events and maintain constant health awareness.

Well priced

Priced at R1,699, the Huawei Band 6 is affordable considering the value that one can derive from using it.
