Over the decades, Mahlangu has elevated this tradition, merging cultural heritage with contemporary mediums and collaborating with some of the world’s most iconic brands.

The Retrospective of a Lifetime

In November 2024, Mahlangu’s extraordinary five-decade career will be celebrated in a landmark retrospective at the Wits Art Museum (WAM) in Johannesburg. This exhibition, curated by Nontobeko Ntombela, showcases artworks loaned from global collectors and highlights Mahlangu’s impact on contemporary art. The project not only elevated her status but also celebrated African culture in the luxury automotive world.
