If you’re still wondering what does PROCRASTINATION has to do with BRANDS, especially PAT ON BRANDS, then continue reading to connect the dots.
Truth be told, I have been contemplating for a while as to when patonbrands.com should go live. One of the main reasons for not starting was that… I did not have enough time, as I am involved in a couple of projects, maybe just a few projects that requires a lot of time. However, if there is one thing I have always wished for is that, I should have started the day I conceived the idea (about a year ago). The truth is, there will never be a perfect time to start something, irrespective how long you are willing to wait. The biggest step of them all is the first step is to start, regardless of how long the journey might seem.
In the famous words of the late great Nelson Mandela, “It always seems impossible, until it’s done”. I think of many times when I embarked on journeys in my life that seemed impossible to complete, but hard work and keeping a positive attitude saw me through.
As you continue reading this post I would like to challenge you to think about what is it that you have been procrastinating to do and start acting on it. Indeed, a journey of a thousand mile begins with a single step. Even though the road is not clear you just need to keep moving forward, eventually you will get there.
It is never too late to start, the founder of KFC, Colonel Sanders was 65 years old when he started the KFC brand and today it is known to be one of the most recognisable brands in the world. The founder of the biggest retailer in the world (Walmart) Sam Walton was 44 when he opened the first Walmart Store. It is also never too early to start, Mark Zuckerberg was a teenager when he founded the world’s largest social media network, Facebook and also to become the youngest billionaire in the world at the time.
Today, we are starting to give brands that are doing well “Pats” and those that are doing bad “Slaps”. I would love for you to be part of this journey by sharing your brand stories and experiences using #PatOnBrands on various social media platforms.
