In honour of youth month, Pat on Brands will hold the youth edition dialogues on 30 June 2021
In conjunction with the Pat on Brands Top 16 Brands by the Youth, Pat on Brands will engage in a panel discussion. This youth-led dialogue will be held on the last day of youth month. This year we are partnering with Unlocked.Me by Nedbank to make this insightful conversation possible.

South Africa is a young country with around a third of the population being between the ages of 18-34 years. This speaks to a huge number of people who hold the future of our economy in their hands. It also a refection of the vibrant nature of our society.
This edition of the dialogue will focus on how brands can be successful in winning the admiration of young people by showcasing their ability to speak to the aspirations and concerns of this generation. It is a platform for home grown brands to connect with the youth while ensuring that more people buy local.
Our panel includes some of SA’s most esteemed young personalities including creatives, seasoned marketers, and entrepreneurs.
The Pat on Brands Youth Dialogue aims to unpack burning questions that are on the minds of young people in a 3-part Live panel discussion.
The Expressive Visionaries
The creatives. Artists, illustrators, photographers and film makers. These are the people who inspire, dazzle and at times provoke us through the powerful visuals we find ourselves drawn to on social media and in our favourite content.

The Expressive Visionaries panel will be hosted by Katlego Ditlhokwe – a storyteller and Lead Strategist at brave Group – A thought leader who is passionate about advertising. Katlego describes himself as a thought leader and all-round creative. He will be joined by Lerato Walaza, a film maker and actor whose passion and love for the arts has driven her to make a name for herself in the industry. Spokenpriestess, is an Afrobeat’s DJ, Copywriter and a lover of all things African. Real name, Precious Nkadimeng – Spokenpriestes has a deep-rooted journey in the entertainment industry spanning over 10 years. Also on the panel is Cyril Zuma, a photographer and founder of Colour Space – an online stock image platform.
The Mavens
Those in the corporate space who work with the brands, organisations and companies we know and love. They are the brains behind the big corporations, lawyers, PR gurus and activists who control the who, what and where.

The Mavens will be hosted by Nompumelelo Satsha. She is the former head of Digital & Insights at Lerato Agency with over 6 years experience in the industry. Her career started as digital marketer. As an earned & paid media junior specialist for an international Hotel & Resort group across Mauritius, Reunion Island, Turkey, China & Tanzania.
Nompumelelo will be in discussion with Stanley Malematja, an attorney at the Right2Protest Project. He is committed to using the law to make a change in the lives of the most marginalized people in South Africa. Joining them on the panel is Sandra Harris. A multi-passionate and dynamic individual in the pursuit of living out a purpose-driven life. She is in the Governance profession for one of the leading FMCG companies. Sandra is the founder of Kumtumikia Africa – a social enterprise that aims to change the circumstances in our communities.
The Legacy Builders
Our entrepreneurs and path finders who dare to establish their own enterprises despite facing challenges. These individuals are breaking boundaries, building empires, and creating employment. They are an inspiration to millions of young people.

Hosting The Legacy Builders is Pat Mahlangu, CEO of Pat on Brands and marketing entrepreneur. He will be joined by Tshepo Mohlala, entrepreneur and founder of Tshepo Jeans. Ntsiki Mkhize, Founder of MentHer, a global mentorship network supporting female social entrepreneurs. She serves as a non-executive Director for Pamanda Properties and eKasi Entrepreneurs. Ntsiki is also a mentor for Phakama Women’s Academy, Business and Arts South Africa and SEED Academy. Ntsiki Mkhize is also a self-published author. The panel will be joined by Mfiso Matlou, an entrepreneur and organic vegetables farmer whose career capital is one you don’t want to miss.
At the heart of the conversation is a deep desire to inspire young people to participate in economic growth by supporting local brands.
