The Pat on Brands Dialogues: Youth Edition aims to amplify the voices of young people in South Africa and unlock critical discussions across different spheres of society. We are bringing you The Mavens (young people in corporate); The Expressive Visionaries (young creatives) and The Legacy Builders (young entrepreneurs) to share their experiences and give a holistic view of how we can better entrench the support of young people.

Katlego Ditlhokwe is a storyteller and Lead Strategist at Brave Group – A thought leader who is passionate about advertising. He holds a Degree in Marketing Communications, is a certified Digital Marketer and Art Director. His journey began at Joe Public where he worked as a Media Strategist, before making a career change into Brand Strategy.
Katlego describes himself as a thought leader and all-round creative.
Spokenpriestes
AfroBeats DJ and Copywriter

Precious Nkadimeng, affectionately known as “Spokenpriestess”, has a deep rooted journey in the entertainment industry spanning over 10 years. Through the years in radio, music, public relations, artist management, writing and events planning, she has made her mark as a culture commentator with much knowledge – particularly in the hip hop community. As of 2018, Spokenpriestess decided to expand herself by fusing her passion for Africa and curating music through becoming a DJ. She plays strictly African pop, known to the world as “afrobeats,” frequently playing East and West African circular music. Having grown some healthy cross border relationships and recently being an on-air presenter at TransAfrica Radio, her passion for African music goes beyond the popular hits by well known artists.

Cyril Zuma is a Commercial Photographer, Digital Content Creator, Founder of Color Space – a stock content platform. Cyril’s photography focuses on lifestyle, events, portraits and weddings. Cyril Zuma is an official Ultra South Africa photographer, Ultra is the biggest music festival in the world, with tops artists gracing the stages in Johannesburg & Cape Town.
Lerato Walaza
Actress and Filmmaker

Actor, voice over artist, aspiring producer and female filmmaker, from Pretoria, Lerato Walaza started being exposed to the world of art and creatives at the age of four through dancing, her creative bone to being an actor took over at the age of 13 when she attended an Art School majoring in drama and continued throughout varsity and obtaining a degree. Even though she started off as an actor, being exposed to the industry and different fields in it, she discovered that there’s so much more opportunities and a huge gap for young black female filmmakers. Whilst those that have pathed the way are opening up the platform for the youth, there’s still a long and enduring journey to go. Lerato’s purpose is to tell stories authentically and represent the current state of life.

Her career started as digital marketer, earned & paid media junior specialist for an international Hotel & Resort group across Mauritius, Reunion Island, Turkey, China & Tanzania.
She also worked as the Artist Relation & Event Coordinator (Influencer marketing manager), earned & paid media buyer for MAC Cosmetics Sub Saharan Africa. Her portfolio included 10 countries in Africa, primary focus on 3 major markets – Nigeria, Kenya & Ghana. Her success lies in fostering relationships with influencer brands like @cuppymusic & @majimb.o and creating friends of the brand, successful instore events in Nigeria, Kenya & Ivory Coast & increased engagement on Retailer & influencer platforms.
She has a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting & Taxation from The University of Witwatersrand.

Sandra is a multi-passionate and dynamic individual in the pursuit of living out an impactful purpose-driven life. She is in the Governance profession for one of the leading FMCG companies and is the founder of Kumtumikia Africa, a social enterprise that aims to contribute to the change we want to see in our local communities. She is currently pursuing her studies to qualify as a Chartered Governance Professional under the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa and also doing the Social Entrepreneurship Programme with GIBS. She aspires to add value to any organization she is a part of and wants to bring out the best in others
Stanley Malemetja
Human Rights Lawyer

Stanley Malematja is an attorney at the Right2Protest Project. Stanley is committed to using the law to make a change in the lives of the most marginalised people in South African society. He was named as the overall winner at the 6th Annual Child Law Moot Court Competition in 2015. He received the prestigious Danie en Chrissie Dörfling Floating Trophy from the University of Johannesburg in 2016.

Mirriam Mathebula continues to pioneer with new products in the financial services market, while leading a movement of professionals, equipping corporate athletes to become the best versions of themselves.
Leadership and servant hood are key values that have helped Mirriam navigate her career within the corporate landscape and her projects; centred around improving the quality of life for the markets she serves, those around her and the underprivileged communities. Specifically empowering the youth and women.
Her 11 year journey from being a graduate to the boardroom table has enabled her to empathise with the needs of employees and intrapreneurs centred around self-awareness that leads to unleashing the power of being a high performer. Her passion for sharing with impact has given birth to her goal to positively impact other individuals in corporate.

Pat Mahlangu is an astute entrepreneur and marketing expert with a passion for crafting brands that excel. Pat discovered his passion for brands during his days as a student at the University of Johannesburg, where he co-founded a campus television station called Varisty TV.
This led him through the path of starting a digital platform called Pat on Brands and ultimately establishing the Lerato Agency in 2020.
His desire to uplift and inspire young leaders is the reason why he has dedicated his time as a lecturer at the Boston Media House, Sandton Campus. He also features regularly as a guest lecture at the University of Johannesburg and Vega.

Tshepo Mohlala
Entrepreneur

Tshepo Mohlala is an entrepreneur and Founder of Tshepo Jeans. He has been in the jean-making industry for the past 12 years and has grown his brand to be one of the most loved in the country. Among his many accomplishments, he has opened a store at one of the most coveted shopping centres in the country- Hyde Park. Tshepo is inspired by businessman and philanthropist Rob Brozin. he describes himself as a creative, an entrepreneur, a lover, a brother, son, and uncle.
Ntsiki Mkhize
Entrepreneur and Author

Ntsiki Mkhize is the Founder of MentHer, a global mentorship network supporting female social entrepreneurs. She serves as a non-executive Director for Pamanda Properties and eKasi Entrepreneurs and is a mentor for Phakama Women’s Academy, Business and Arts South Africa and SEED Academy. Ntsiki Mkhize is a self-published author. Her inaugural book My Hall of Mentors was released in 2019 with launches in South Africa and Scotland. In 2020 she gave her first TEDx Talk at Cumbernauld Women and was featured as the youngest speaker at the International Speakers Summit and Epic Entrepreneurs Virtual Conference. As if that isn’t enough – Ntsiki is a South African model and was named the second runner- up at the 2015 Miss South Africa pageant.
Mfiso Matlou
Farmer

Mfiso Matlou is an entrepreneur and organic vegetable farmer. He obtained his Diploma in 2011 and was awarded the best performing experiential learner in 2011. He holds a BTech in Agricultural Crop Production.
He founded his company in 2012 and decided to work on it full time in 2017. Mfiso’s farm grows crops such as cabbages, cucurbits and Swiss chard. He recently increased the scale of his operations and employs 8 permanent workers and has approximately 30 casual workers for planting, weeding and harvesting.
