Mercedes-Benz South Africa has reduced the prices of nearly every car in its line-up, except its electric vehicles (EVs). Starting April 2025, 56 different models from the popular German brand are now more affordable. This includes luxury models from Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach, with the biggest drop seen on the Mercedes-AMG G63 which is now R214,684 cheaper than before.
No Change in Features, Just Better Value
While some global markets like Australia have seen price drops along with changes in vehicle features, that’s not the case here. Mercedes-Benz SA confirmed that there are no changes to the standard features or equipment of any of the models.
The brand says the lower prices are to cost savings found through its service and maintenance partners. Those savings are being passed directly to customers.
New Optional Maintenance Plan
In addition to the standard 5-year/100,000 km maintenance plan (included in all listed prices), Mercedes-Benz SA now offers an optional 7-year/140,000 km plan for customers who want extra coverage.
Which Models Have the Biggest Savings?
Here are some of the most notable price drops:
AMG G63: Down R214,684 (now R4,415,916)
Pre-facelift AMG G63: Down R198,334
GLE300d: Down R147,497
Mercedes-Maybach S680: Down R143,245
AMG S63 SE Performance: Down R137,965
GLE450: Down R103,650
AMG C63 SE Performance: Down R98,750
Even smaller models like the A-Class and CLA have seen modest drops between R7,900 and R50,000.
Mercedes-Benz SA hasn’t adjusted the prices of any electric vehicles. While the brand hasn’t shared a specific reason, it could be linked to global EV production costs or local market strategy.
Whether you’re in the market for a compact hatchback or a premium SUV, this move makes Mercedes-Benz more competitive in South Africa. With no compromise on quality or features, these price cuts are a win for consumers looking for value and luxury.
