South African retail giant Mr Price is expanding its in-store offerings by inviting entrepreneurs to operate coffee outlets inside selected store locations. The initiative forms part of the retailer’s strategy to enhance the customer experience while creating new business opportunities within the retail environment.

A Business Opportunity for Entrepreneurs
The opportunity is open to small business owners and aspiring franchisees eager to tap into the high foot traffic of Mr Price stores. This opportunity will place successful applicants in charge of café kiosks located at three retail outlets including Diep River in Cape Town, Hillcrest in Durban and Nelspruit Crossing in Mbombela. By partnering with the retailer, entrepreneurs gain access to a broad customer base while offering shoppers fresh coffee and light refreshments during their in-store visits.
What Mr Price Expects from Partners
Mr Price has outlined that selected partners will be responsible for running fully operational coffee outlets, delivering quality products and service aligned with the brand’s standards. This approach allows entrepreneurs to grow their businesses without the pressure of securing independent prime retail space.
How to Apply
Interested applicants are invited to submit proposals, including a business plan outlining their concept, experience, and operational strategy through the Mr Price Foundation’s online application system. Mr Price has emphasised its commitment to supporting entrepreneurial growth through partnerships that add value to both shoppers and local businesses. Local coffee entrepreneurs are requested to submit their applications by 16 January 2026.
Part of a Wider Retail Trend
This move reflects a broader trend among South African retailers to diversify service offerings and enhance the overall shopping experience. If successful, the in-store coffee outlets could become a regular feature across more Mr Price locations, offering entrepreneurs a scalable platform for growth.
