Tiger Brands has announced a precautionary voluntary recall of its popular Benny Beef and Chicken Flavoured Stock Cubes, after discovering inaccurate nutritional labelling on the packs.
Why Recall?
Although no complaints have been received from consumers, the company says the decision was made after consultation with the National Consumer Commission. The move reflects Tiger Brands’ commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality and transparency for its customers.
Affected BENNY Products

The recall only affects Benny Beef Flavoured Stock Cubes and Benny Chicken Flavoured Stock Cubes in 12, 24 and 48 cube pack sizes with a Best Before date of 31 July 2027 or earlier.
Importantly, no other products under the Benny brand are included in the recall.
What Should Consumers Do?
Consumers who have purchased the affected products are encouraged to return them to the store where they were bought — whether a supermarket, wholesaler or retail outlet. Starting Thursday, 21 August 2025, shoppers can claim a full cash refund or coupon, with no proof of purchase required.
For more details, Tiger Brands has made its Consumer Careline available on 0860 100 891 or via email at tigercsd@tigerbrands.com or visit the Tiger Brands website.
Tiger Brands Responds
Tiger Brands has apologised for any inconvenience caused, emphasising that the recall is a proactive step in the best interest of its consumers. The company’s Culinary Division says it will work to reintroduce the stock cubes to shelves once the nutritional labelling issue is corrected.
