Rosebank College Rebrands to Rosebank International in Major Expansion Drive

Advtech has officially announced the rebranding of Rosebank College to Rosebank International (RI), marking a significant step in the institution’s evolution into a broader pan-African education brand.

The education group said the move reflects the institution’s growing footprint beyond South Africa and its ambition to become Africa’s most dynamic provider of tertiary education.

New Identity Reflects Continental Ambitions

According to Advtech, the rebrand aligns the institution’s local identity with its existing international operations in Ghana while laying the groundwork for its transition to full university status in South Africa.

The institution has also unveiled a refreshed visual identity aimed at positioning the brand for international growth and stronger recognition across African markets.

“This name change and new corporate identity better reflect Rosebank International’s ambition to become Africa’s largest and most respected private university,” said Geoff Whyte, group CEO of Advtech.

“We are already making good progress towards this goal with significant and accelerating enrolment growth both locally and abroad,” he added.

Government Welcomes Development

Deputy Minister for Higher Education and Training Mimmy Gondwe described the launch of Rosebank International as an important milestone for South Africa’s higher education sector.

“This development reflects the kind of bold private-sector innovation South Africa needs in the higher education sector to drive skills development,” said Gondwe.

“Together, the public and private sectors can work towards realising our shared goal of expanding access to quality university-level education while producing skilled graduates who are empowered to drive our economy and the African continent forward,” she added.

Focus on International Collaboration

Rosebank International said the rebrand will also support broader academic collaboration and increased global engagement opportunities for students and faculty.

Linda Meyer, managing director and president of Rosebank International and Rosebank International University College Ghana, said the institution is focused on preparing graduates for both African and global environments.

“Through Rosebank International, we are creating opportunities for international academic collaboration while developing graduates prepared for African contexts and global relevance,” said Meyer.

A New Chapter for Private Higher Education

The rebrand signals a new chapter for one of South Africa’s best-known private tertiary institutions as it seeks to strengthen its position within the continent’s increasingly competitive higher education landscape.

With expansion plans underway and growing student enrolments across markets, Rosebank International is positioning itself as a future-focused African education brand with global aspirations.
