CCBSA Appoints Basetsana-Bame Modimogale as Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Director

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has announced key leadership appointments, reinforcing its commitment to excellence and strategic growth. At the forefront of these changes is Basetsana-Bame Modimogale, who steps into the role of Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Director, effective 1 January 2025.

A Journey of Growth and Impact

Modimogale’s appointment highlights CCBSA’s dedication to nurturing internal talent and fostering leadership excellence. Having joined the company in 2007 as a trainee account manager, she has built an impressive career within CCBSA, advancing through several leadership roles, including sales manager, key accounts manager, customer manager TEG, general manager of alternative revenue streams, and her most recent role as country lead: customer excellence national accounts.

Throughout her tenure, Modimogale has demonstrated an exceptional ability to forge strong customer relationships and drive impactful business results through strategic partnerships. Her deep understanding of both the commercial and corporate sectors makes her a vital asset in leading CCBSA’s Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability initiatives.

A Leader Equipped for the Future

Modimogale holds a BCom in Law, a BCom Honours in Strategic Management, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Her contributions to the business have been recognised through numerous internal and external awards, cementing her status as a leader committed to excellence and innovation.

Her new role will see her spearheading CCBSA’s public engagement strategies, enhancing sustainability efforts, and ensuring the company maintains a positive societal impact while fostering transparent communication with key stakeholders.

“Bame’s wealth of experience and dedication have positioned her as a leader who will drive our Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability agenda to new heights,” said Rakesh Rajbally, Managing Director of CCBSA.

Strengthening Leadership Across the Organisation

Alongside Modimogale’s appointment, CCBSA has welcomed two additional leaders to key roles:

  • Tony Smith has been appointed as People and Culture Director. With over 20 years of experience in human resources, including 15 years in senior leadership roles, Smith has played an integral role in shaping CCBSA’s organisational culture over his 14-year tenure. His leadership will focus on fostering an inclusive and high-performing workplace aligned with CCBSA’s strategic objectives.
  • Edwin Fisher steps into the role of IT Director. With 24 years of IT experience, including 12 years in senior leadership, Fisher brings a deep understanding of CCBSA’s digital landscape. His expertise will be pivotal in advancing the company’s digital transformation and ensuring IT capabilities align with business needs.

A Vision for Sustainable Growth

CCBSA’s leadership team is dedicated to driving the company’s strategic growth ambition with a strong customer-centric approach. The team is tasked with navigating an evolving business environment that demands agility and sound decision-making.

“As we welcome Tony, Bame, and Edwin to their new roles, we are confident in their ability to lead with purpose and deliver results that drive sustainable growth for our organisation and stakeholders,” concluded Rajbally.

CCBSA continues to pursue its vision of refreshing consumers while making a meaningful impact on communities, employees, and business partners.
