Corolla reaches a major milestone

The Toyota Corolla has remained one of the company’s most important models since its introduction. The original Corolla was designed to offer quality, versatility and affordability, while providing customers with strong value for money.

Now in its 12th generation, the Corolla continues to evolve in response to changing customer needs. Its long-running success has helped establish it as a familiar name in markets around the world.

Today, the Corolla is manufactured at 12 locations and sold in 150 countries and regions. Europe remains an important market for the model, where it has been part of Toyota’s line-up since 1967.

The Corolla has also played an important role in Toyota’s European manufacturing operations. Production began at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey in 1994, before expanding to Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in 1998.

Toyota Corolla 60th Anniversary styling

The Toyota Corolla 60th Anniversary Hatchback and Touring Sports models stand out with an exclusive New Boreal Blue metallic paint finish. The colour is paired with a contrasting Night Sky Black roof and pillars in a distinctive bi-tone design.

The special editions also include:

  • New 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels.

  • A contrasting matt and machined wheel finish.

  • Chromed black wheel nuts.

  • Matt silver garnishes on the lower front bumper and side sills.

  • Dark-plated fog light ornaments.

  • Dark-plated rear bumper and back-door corner garnishes.

  • Matt silver 60th Anniversary decals on the lower edge of the rear doors.

The Touring Sports model receives an additional matt silver highlight on the lower rear bumper, giving the estate-style model a distinctive finish.

Inside, both models feature matt silver scuff plates with the 60th Anniversary logo. Black textile carpet mats with coordinating matt silver inserts complete the commemorative interior treatment.

Sedan receives a signature finish

The Corolla Sedan has its own signature Lunar Sky Blue paint finish. It shares many of the exterior styling features found on the Hatchback and Touring Sports models, including the 17-inch alloy wheels, special garnish details and 60th Anniversary badging.

The Sedan also features:

  • Matt silver 60th Anniversary scuff plates.

  • Black carpet mats with matt silver inserts.

  • A matt silver highlight strip along the lower edge of the boot lid.

  • Exclusive exterior detailing to distinguish it from standard Corolla models.

Customers can also choose the special-edition models in Platinum White Pearl premium paint or Ash Grey metallic.

Hybrid powertrain options

The Corolla 60th Anniversary range uses Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid technology. The system is designed to deliver quiet, smooth and efficient performance.

Hatchback and Touring Sports customers can choose between two hybrid powertrains:

  • A 1.8-litre hybrid system producing 140 DIN hp.

  • A 2.0-litre hybrid system producing up to 178 DIN hp.

The Corolla Sedan is available exclusively with the 1.8-litre hybrid system.

The two-litre option is aimed at customers looking for stronger performance, while the 1.8-litre system focuses on efficient everyday driving.

Technology comes as standard

The latest Corolla range provides a fully digital user experience as standard. Drivers receive a customisable 12.3-inch digital instrument display, while the Toyota Smart Connect+ multimedia system uses a 10.5-inch touchscreen.

The multimedia system includes:

  • Cloud-based navigation.

  • Up-to-date traffic information.

  • Embedded route planning.

  • Access to connected multimedia functions.

  • Over-the-air updates for selected systems.

The ability to receive updates over the air allows Toyota to introduce new and enhanced multimedia functions without requiring every update to be completed manually at a dealership.

Toyota safety features

The Toyota Corolla 60th Anniversary models include Toyota T-Mate active safety and driving assistance systems as standard.

The safety package includes Toyota Safety Sense features designed to identify common accident risks and help drivers avoid or reduce the impact of a collision.

Available functions include:

  • Pre-Collision System with Intersection Collision Avoidance.

  • Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control.

  • Lane Departure Alert.

  • Lane Trace Assist.

  • Emergency Steering Assist.

  • Road Sign Assist.

These systems are designed to support the driver rather than replace their attention and responsibility behind the wheel.

Availability and deliveries

Toyota is now accepting orders for the Corolla 60th Anniversary special editions. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin from the end of October.

The special editions will be available in Hatchback, Touring Sports and Sedan body styles, with equipment and powertrain availability depending on the model.
