Standard Bank and Checkers Sixty60 Unite to Deliver Powerful Rewards

Standard Bank and Checkers Sixty60 Unite to Deliver Powerful

Standard Bank has officially joined forces with Checkers to bring customers an exclusive rewards program that offers up to 40 percent back when shopping through the Sixty60 app and up to 30 percent back in-store. This partnership, launched on 16 April 2025, gives UCount Rewards members unmatched value on thousands of everyday items.

Customers can earn and redeem rewards on over ten thousand products including groceries electronics and lifestyle items such as air fryers and Apple Airpods. All purchases made through the Sixty60 app are delivered within a guaranteed 60-minute window, combining speed and convenience with real savings.

Unlike other bank and retailer programs this initiative does not limit customers to specific categories. It offers total flexibility, allowing them to benefit from rewards across all product ranges. These benefits come on top of over R1 billion in savings already available through Checkers’ Xtra Savings program.

A Shared Commitment to Affordability and Everyday Value

Meredith Allan General Manager of Strategy and Rewards at ShopriteX describes the partnership as a long-term commitment to easing the cost of living for South Africans. This alliance between Africa’s largest bank and the continent’s biggest retailer is rooted in a shared mission to deliver real value where it matters most.

Funeka Montjane Chief Executive of Personal and Private Banking at Standard Bank says the rewards are effortlessly accessible through digital channels and in-store purchases offering instant savings that are meaningful and practical for everyday living.

Shoprite continues to lead as South Africa’s low-price champion by offering essential items such as R5 bread R5 sanitary pads and R5 deli meals. These are not promotional specials but permanent everyday prices. The retailer sells more than 1.8 millions of these items weekly across its nationwide stores.

This partnership signals a bold step forward in retail and banking collaboration creating a more affordable and rewarding shopping experience for South Africans everywhere.
