Top 16 YOBAs Announce Keynote Speaker: Nomsa Chabeli

Nomsa Chabeli to Deliver Keynote at The YOBAs 2025

The 4th Annual Top 16 YOBAs is excited to feature this year’s keynote speaker, Nomsa Chabeli, the esteemed Group CEO of the SABC. Her presence underscores the growing recognition of youth entrepreneurship and the critical role media in shaping narratives around success, empowerment, and national development.

SABC CEO Takes YOBAs Stage

In previous years, the YOBAs have had the honour of hosting distinguished keynote speakers such as Thebe Ikalafeng, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Professor Bonang Mohale, leaders whose stories have profoundly inspired audiences and set a high benchmark for the calibre of insights shared at the event.

This year, Nomsa Chabeli steps into that legacy with confidence and credibility, continuing the standard of excellence set by previous keynote speakers. With extensive experience in building some of South Africa’s most iconic brands, she brings a sharp and insightful perspective that aligns seamlessly with the YOBAs’ tradition of spotlighting impactful and transformative leadership.

The keynote address serves as both a mirror and a compass—reflecting the values that the YOBAs represent while guiding young achievers toward the future they are actively shaping. Nomsa Chabeli’s presence is more than symbolic, it is profoundly aligned with the YOBAs’ mission to honour youth excellence across various sectors. Having carved out a powerful narrative in the fields of marketing and branding, Chabeli provides not only inspiration but also actionable insight, reinforcing the belief that young visionaries can, and must, define the future of industries, culture, and the nation.

Anchoring Vision, Inspiring Excellence

In championing youth potential and excellence, the YOBAs present Nomsa Chabeli as a keynote speaker whose journey reflects the event’s core purpose: to center stage individuals who not only dream, but deliver.

Now in its fourth year, the YOBAs has established itself as a powerful platform to championing youth entrepreneurship across 16 diverse categories, including Top Technology Brand, Top Apparel Brand, Top Food Brand, and more. The event attracts an audience of over 500 entrepreneurs, creatives, business leaders, and media professionals.

This year’s keynote speaker, Nomsa Chabeli, brings over two decades of leadership experience in marketing and business, having held senior roles at major companies such as MultiChoice, MTN, Brand South Africa, and Edcon. Currently serving as the SABC’s Group Chief Marketing Officer, an official media category partner, her presence is especially fitting. Her expertise and proven track record with brands, some of which are official sponsors and partners of the YOBAs’, make her insights especially relevant and deeply connected to the event’s broader mission and ecosystem.

Chabeli’s presence is expected to inspire the next generation of innovators, encouraging them to push boundaries and contribute to a brighter, youth-driven future.
