Naked Coffee Restaurant Is Coming to Rosebank

Naked Coffee Restaurant is coming to Rosebank, with the popular South African coffee and food brand set to open a new location at the One Rosebank development in Johannesburg.

The move adds another destination to Naked Coffee’s growing footprint and brings the brand into one of Johannesburg’s busiest lifestyle and commercial districts.

Located at 37 Cradock Avenue, One Rosebank combines residential living with restaurants, retail spaces and lifestyle amenities, placing the new Naked Coffee location close to Rosebank Mall, The Zone and The Firs.

Naked Coffee Restaurant Joins One Rosebank

The new Naked Coffee Restaurant will form part of the hospitality offering at One Rosebank, a mixed-use development designed around the idea of connected urban living.

For Naked Coffee, the location places the brand in an area that attracts residents, office workers, shoppers and visitors throughout the week.

It also fits naturally with the brand’s positioning. Naked Coffee has built its identity around more than simply serving a cup of coffee, combining food, contemporary interiors and carefully selected locations to create a broader lifestyle experience.

From a Coffee Concept to a Growing Brand

Founded by Shaun Els and Victor Barbosa, Naked Coffee started in Johannesburg before developing into a broader food and coffee concept.

By 2017, the business had evolved into Naked Kitchen & Coffee Bar, expanding its offering beyond coffee to include fresh produce and home-style food.

Today, the brand is known for combining speciality coffee with breakfast and lunch dishes in contemporary spaces.

Its presence has expanded across Johannesburg and into Cape Town, with Rosebank becoming the next location in the brand’s growth journey.

The new Naked Coffee Restaurant also arrives as the brand continues to experiment with what a modern coffee business can offer customers.

In May 2026, Naked Coffee introduced Naked After Dark at its Illovo location, extending the experience into the evening with a dedicated dinner offering available from Wednesday to Saturday.

That move showed a brand stretching beyond the traditional morning coffee and daytime café occasion.

Adding Rosebank to its footprint provides another opportunity for Naked Coffee to grow that wider food and lifestyle positioning.

Why Rosebank Makes Sense for the Brand

Rosebank has developed into an important destination for retail, dining, offices, hospitality and residential living in Johannesburg.

For the Naked Coffee Restaurant, entering the precinct puts the brand close to an audience that already fits its positioning.

One Rosebank itself is designed as a mixed-use development, bringing residential apartments together with dining, retail and shared amenities.

That matters from a branding perspective.

Modern hospitality brands are increasingly competing on the overall experience surrounding the product. Location, interior design, convenience and atmosphere can become as important to the brand experience as what appears on the menu.

Naked Coffee has already leaned heavily into this approach.

Design Has Become Part of the Naked Coffee Identity

Walk into a Naked Coffee Restaurant and the physical space is an important part of the experience.

The brand has become associated with minimalist interiors, contemporary finishes and its distinctive use of green.

Its Morningside location, for example, was designed by Tristan du Plessis of Studio A, incorporating custom furniture and carefully considered interior details.

This consistent visual language helps make Naked Coffee recognisable even as it moves into different locations.

For a hospitality business, that consistency can be powerful. Customers are not only buying coffee or breakfast; they are interacting with a physical expression of the brand.

Naked Coffee Restaurant Continues the Brand’s Growth

The arrival of Naked Coffee Restaurant at One Rosebank marks another step in the development of a South African brand that has grown from a coffee-focused concept into a broader hospitality business.

Rosebank gives Naked Coffee access to another major Johannesburg lifestyle destination while One Rosebank provides a setting that combines residential, retail and hospitality experiences.

The next question will be how the brand translates the Naked Coffee experience into its new Rosebank home.

What started as a Johannesburg coffee concept continues to grow – one location, menu and experience at a time.

The Naked Coffee Restaurant opening also reflects the continued growth of experience-led hospitality brands in South Africa. Pat on Brands recently reported on Pantry by Marble’s plans to expand across South Africa, another hospitality concept using location, convenience and customer experience to grow its footprint.
