Gugu Nkabinde is a Strategist and an Entrepreneur with over 14 years brand and marketing management experience and just under 4years experience as a Brand, Communications and Creative Strategist. Her experience spans across companies such as Unilever South Africa, SAB Miller, DGB and the banking /services industries – from positioning, consumer insight and ideation, to managing high-profile, best-in-class integrated communications development.
Gugu has a proven track record in developing robust strategic and innovative thinking and developing and monitoring marketing plans, influencing stakeholders and managing large and complex projects. Her experience as the CEO and Founder of Africa’s FIRST skin coloured underwear range has broadened her experience from both a Brand and Business point of view. She recently kicked off a series of experiential collab pop ups with some of Africa’s brightest up and coming fashion and retail start-ups with some of SA’s biggest malls.

With 2 decades of experience, Nontokozo Madonsela is a recognised and respected expert and leader in marketing. Winner of the Avance Media Most Influential Young South African Business Leader award – 2018, her career path has been defined by an uncompromising commitment to delivering smart, innovative and memorable marketing solutions across a wide variety of industries.
She is currently the Group Chief Marketing Officer at MMI Holdings, the JSE-listed group that was born out of the merger of Momentum and Metropolitan. During the past two years, Nontokozo has been driving MMI and its client-facing brands (Momentum and Metropolitan) to embrace a new marketing strategy in line with the group’s plans to reset itself for growth into the future. Her marketing leadership and firebrand reputation have been evident in how Momentum has successfully shifted its messages to connect better with customers, as well as how Metropolitan has embraced its essence of ensuring it stays true to what matters to its customers.
CEO: Ogilvy South Africa
Alistair Mokoena, current Chief Executive Officer of Ogilvy South Africa, boasts a marketing career that spans 20 years at blue chip companies like Unilever, Tiger Brands, ABInbev, Mondelez and Absa Bank where he held several marketing positions. Before joining Ogilvy Johannesburg in 2015 as Managing Director, he was Managing Director of FCB Johannesburg where he worked on clients like Toyota, SARS, Old Mutual, Coca-Cola and Famous Brands, amongst others. Alistair serves on the IAB Board as Vice-Chairperson, a position he held previously at the ACA. As a PhD candidate, Alistair has a passion for business management and is a regular guest lecturer at Wits Business School, Rhodes Business School and GIBS. Alistair is a keen wildlife photographer and a jazz enthusiast.
