Fabani Sandton Pop-Up Store Bids Farewell on 13 July

Fabani, one of South Africa’s fastest-growing luxury streetwear brands, is preparing to close the doors of its popular Fabiani Café pop-up at Sandton City on 13 July, bringing an end to a two-week retail activation that blended fashion, lifestyle and social impact.

Running from 30 June to 13 July, the Fabiani Café formed part of the brand’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme in partnership with the Sozo Foundation and FoodForward SA, offering consumers more than just coffee.

A Platform for Youth Employment

At the heart of the initiative are graduates of the Sozo Foundation’s Barista Training Programme, who gained valuable hands-on experience by operating the café throughout the activation. The programme equips young people with industry-recognised skills, helping bridge the gap between training and meaningful employment.

“The Fabiani Café represents our belief that great brands have the power to create meaningful impact beyond retail,” said Ngqondi Mfini, Head of the Marketing Department at Fabiani. “By partnering with organisations such as the Sozo Foundation and FoodForward SA, we’re investing in young people, creating pathways to employment, and contributing to stronger, more resilient communities.”

How Is Every Cup of Coffee Supporting a Greater Cause?

The initiative extends beyond employment opportunities.

According to Fabiani, 100% of proceeds from coffee, food and merchandise sales will go towards supporting the Sozo Foundation and FoodForward SA, helping fund programmes that provide skills development and nutritious meals to vulnerable communities across South Africa.

Right across from the iStore in Sandton City, this café is a lifestyle hotspot with sleek minimalist interiors, exclusive Fabiani merchandise, and locally sourced food and drinks. Guests can sip on coffee made with the signature Fabiani Blend while indulging in handcrafted pastries and gourmet treats from local partners, all showcasing the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship, quality, and modern style.

What Makes the Fabiani Café More Than Just a Pop-Up?

The Fabiani Café highlights several trends shaping modern marketing:

  • Experiences drive stronger emotional connections than transactions.
  • Purpose-led partnerships can strengthen brand credibility.
  • Corporate social investment can be integrated into the customer experience rather than existing as a separate initiative.
  • Limited-time activations create urgency while generating conversation around the brand.

The pop-up illustrates how brands can combine retail, storytelling and social impact to build meaningful relationships with consumers.

What’s Next for Fabani

As the pop-up prepares to close its doors on 13 July, Fabani is celebrating the success of this retail experiment. Fabani encourages fans to visit the store one last time to secure their favourite pieces and be part of this closing chapter.
