Effie South Africa 2025 finalists announcement with 44 campaigns recognised for outstanding marketing effectiveness.

Effie South Africa Unveils 2025 Finalists

The wait is over! Effie South Africa has officially revealed the 44 finalists for the 2025 programme following an intense first round of judging. These campaigns didn’t just look good — they proved their effectiveness by delivering on their stated objectives. Now, they’re in the running for the most coveted accolade in the industry: an Effie Award.

Setting the Standard for Effectiveness

Refilwe Maluleke, Jury Co-Chair, set the tone for this year’s exceptional showcase:

“The standard of entries this year has been exceptional. The most effective work begins with clear objectives, strong strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the business challenge. Our role as a jury is to apply rigorous evaluation to ensure every finalist has proven, beyond doubt, the impact of their work.”

Being named a finalist is already a big win — it means agencies and clients are earning points towards the Global Effie Index, giving them worldwide recognition for marketing effectiveness.

Where Creativity Meets Results

For Ahmed Tilly, Jury Co-Chair, creativity isn’t just an add-on — it’s the driver of results:

“Creativity is at the heart of effectiveness. The work that rises to the top shows us how a powerful idea, rooted in insight, can drive significant and measurable results.”

The record-breaking number of entries this year proves one thing — South Africa’s communications sector is serious about marketing effectiveness.

A Diverse Line-Up

From big global networks to independent agencies, media and PR specialists, and direct client submissions, the 2025 finalists reflect the depth and breadth of talent shaping South Africa’s marketing landscape.

Now in its fifth year, the Effie Awards South Africa continues to grow from strength to strength, cementing its position as the gold standard for marketing effectiveness.

What’s Next

Round Two of judging will decide which campaigns take home Bronze, Silver, or Gold — and which will claim the prestigious Grand Effie.

Mark your calendars: Winners will be announced at the Effie Awards Gala on 21 October 2025.

Celebrating Excellence

Gillian Rightford, Executive Director at the ACA, congratulated the finalists:

“Achieving finalist status in the Effies is, in itself, a mark of excellence — it means your work has met the highest global standards for marketing effectiveness.”

Effie Awards South Africa is hosted by the Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA) and sponsored by Nedbank, SAB, Unilever, GIB Insurance, Investec, with in-kind support from Lobengula Advertising and media partner Modern Marketing.
