Cell C Rebrands: A Fresh Logo, New Brand Design, and A Slogan

Cell C, South Africa’s fourth-largest mobile network, unveiled its new brand at a big event in Johannesburg on August 15. The company revealed a fresh logo, brand design, and a new slogan, showing its commitment to remaining a strong player in the telecommunications industry.

Cell C under Jorge Mendes

Jorge Mendes, who took over as CEO in 2023, has been a driving force behind this brand transformation. Under his leadership, Cell C is not just aiming to refresh its image but to rebuild from the inside out. Mendes is focused on creating a work culture that stands out across industries, not just within telecoms. His vision is to make Cell C a leader in innovation, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement, setting the stage for sustainable growth.

At the launch event, Mendes passionately stated, “We want to build the best culture in the country, not only in the telco business but in any business.” He further emphasized the company’s strategic direction, saying, “I believe we have the best strategy in the country in this space.” This statement reflects Mendes’ confidence in Cell C’s future, as he steers the company toward becoming a major player in the market once again.

A new look to stand out

Cell C lost its presence in the market over the recent years which caused the company to miss opportunities. Chief Marketing Officer, Melanie Forbes of Cell C highlights “It was time for a change. We need to get back into the minds of South Africans,” Forbes explained.

The brand refresh goes beyond aesthetics; it represents a complete remodel of Cell C’s services and customer experience. In 2021, Cell C started migrating its customers to roam on “partner networks” MTN and Vodacom. The migration process was part of a strategy to move away from spending money on infrastructure.

A fresh start for Cell C

With its revitalized brand, Cell C is determined to regain customer trust and become a leading choice for mobile services. Moreover, the company believes that this bold transformation will attract new customers and also strengthen its position in the market. By embracing change and focusing on innovation, Cell C is positioning itself for a brighter, more competitive future.

Cell C aims to enhance its market presence and customer satisfaction with a modern logo and improved network partnerships. This strategic service positions the company for a stronger, more competitive future.
