Bolt Gives 10,000 Free Rides To Women This August

Bolt, a major global ride-hailing company, has set out to support women in their communities with the #BoltRoadTo Equal. Bolt is offering 10,000 free rides to the value of R50 to women across various locations in South Africa.

Why this initiative matters

Bolt’s decision to give away 10,000 free rides is not just a marketing technique, in reality, it is a thoughtful way to show support for women-owned businesses. Furthermore, by covering the cost of these rides, Bolt hopes to ensure safety and reliability for women.

“We are proud to celebrate Women’s Month by supporting women-owned establishments and honouring the incredible women who have shaped our history. This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women. By providing free rides to women-owned businesses, we hope to create lasting impact and inspire future generations,” said Sandra Buyole, regional PR manager at Bolt.

How women Can benefit

The free rides will be available in specific locations to maximize impact namely:

Johannesburg (Constitutional Hill, Yococo)

Cape Town (Iziko Museum, The Sugarbird Gin, Artery, Riverine Rabbit, Theonista)

Durban(Amazwi Abesifazane, The Chefs’ Table, Culinary Table)

Women can use the Bolt app to redeem free rides by entering a special promo code (Mbokhoto68). This initiative will be active throughout Women’s Month, showing Bolt’s ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment.

Beyond the free rides

While the free rides are a direct benefit, the impact of this initiative is even broader. Indeed, reliable transportation is crucial for personal and professional development, and safety.

The broader impact of Bolt’s commitment

Bolt’s 10,000 free rides campaign highlights how important it is for companies to contribute positively to society. It shows that businesses can play a significant role in addressing social issues. As Women’s Month continues, Bolt’s initiative is a standout example of how a simple yet impactful action can contribute to a more supportive world for women. By focusing on transportation, Bolt is helping pave the way for greater opportunities and an improved quality of life for women everywhere.

Let’s celebrate and support initiatives like Bolt’s, which make a real difference. Empowerment can start with something as straightforward as a free ride, moving us closer to a more inclusive and supportive world.
