African Bank has announced the appointment of Eloise Boezak as the new Head of Strategic Communications and Public Relations, effective 1 June 2025. This internal promotion is a strong indication of the bank’s commitment to developing and recognizing talent from within its own teams.
A Career Spanning Over Two Decades
Boezak brings more than 25 years of experience in the communications field. Her career began at Magna Carta, and she has since held senior roles in financial services, oil and gas, academia, and telecommunications.
She joined African Bank seven years ago, most recently serving as Head of Marketing for Personal Banking, where she led key brand campaigns and played an integral role in business-wide marketing initiatives.
Driving Group-Wide Communications Strategy
In her new role, Boezak will spearhead group-wide communications and PR strategy. Her priorities will include:
- Enhancing African Bank’s corporate reputation
- Aligning internal and external communications
- Leading the storytelling agenda across the business
- Strengthening stakeholder trust and engagement
She will collaborate closely with leadership and business units to ensure consistent and impactful messaging across the organization.
She will work closely with senior leadership and various business units to ensure consistent, bold, and resonant communication that reflects African Bank’s evolving identity.
Supporting African Bank’s, Audacious Identity
Boezak steps into this role at a pivotal time for African Bank. In recent years, the bank has undergone a major rebrand, positioning itself around the theme of “Audacity”—a bold and confident expression of its purpose to empower customers to live financially free.
In 2024, the bank further cemented this refreshed identity by naming Nomzamo Mbatha—acclaimed actress, humanitarian, and businesswoman—as its official brand ambassador. This strategic move aligned with African Bank’s mission to represent resilience, authenticity, and ambition.
Continuity and Recruitment for Successor
While stepping into her new role, Boezak will continue to oversee the Personal Banking Marketing portfolio during the transition period. African Bank has confirmed that the recruitment process for her successor in that role will begin shortly.
Recognition of Leadership Excellence
African Bank expressed pride in Boezak’s appointment, noting that it reflects the institution’s focus on nurturing strong leadership internally. Her deep understanding of the bank’s culture and vision positions her well to lead the next chapter of its communications journey.
