Adam Howard Returns for Red Bull Symphonic 2026

The highly anticipated 2026 edition of Red Bull Symphonic South Africa 2026 is already generating major excitement, with acclaimed music producer and audio director Adam Howard officially returning as co-director for this year’s production.

Following the success of previous editions, Howard’s role in 2026 will be more hands-on, with his company, Howard Audio, deeply involved in the creative and technical development of the show.

Adam Howard Steps Into Expanded Creative Role

Having worked closely with the Red Bull Symphonic creative team over the past two years, Howard is now helping steer the full music production for the 2026 showcase. This includes overseeing 18 original musical arrangements, coordinating musicians, artists and choir performances, and managing the broader sonic direction of the event.

The announcement marks another milestone for the growing live music platform, which continues to blend contemporary South African music with orchestral excellence.

From Amapiano to Afro House

After celebrating the global rise of Amapiano in 2025, the 2026 edition shifts its focus to House Music — a genre deeply rooted in South African culture and identity.

Organisers say this year’s production will explore the evolution of local dance music, tracing its influence from Kwaito and Gqom to Amapiano and the emerging 3-Step sound. The spotlight, however, will firmly rest on Afro House and its future trajectory on the global stage.

Sun-El Musician and Dlala Thukzin Join Forces

For the first time in the history of Red Bull Symphonic South Africa, the event will feature two headline acts sharing the stage.

Award-winning producer Sun-El Musician and genre-bending hitmaker Dlala Thukzin are set to collaborate alongside maestro Chad Hendricks and a full symphonic orchestra.

The collaboration is expected to deliver a powerful fusion of electronic music and orchestral performance, continuing the signature format that has made Red Bull Symphonic a standout event on the South African entertainment calendar.

Tickets Sell Out Within a Day

The demand for this year’s edition has been overwhelming, with both shows reportedly selling out within 24 hours. More than 10,000 tickets were snapped up by eager fans, highlighting the event’s growing popularity and cultural significance.

The Howard Events Team described the response as a reflection of the audience’s appetite for ambitious live music experiences that celebrate South African creativity at scale.

A Landmark Moment for South African Live Entertainment

As Red Bull Symphonic continues to evolve, the 2026 edition promises to be one of its most ambitious productions yet. With Adam Howard returning in an expanded leadership role and Afro House taking centre stage, the event is set to showcase the richness, innovation and global influence of South African music.
