HotSpot Seli new presenters Khanyi Mars, Munaka Muthambi and Roiii

HotSpot Seli New Presenters Join Refreshed SABC1 Season

HotSpot Seli new presenters Khanyi Mars, Munaka Muthambi and Oratile “Roiii” Kgobe are stepping into the spotlight as SABC1 refreshes its entertainment lifestyle show for a new season.

Premiering on 1 October 2026 at 18:00 on SABC1 and SABC Plus, the new season will bring together three personalities whose careers span digital content, music, radio, lifestyle and entertainment.

The refreshed line-up also reflects a broader shift in entertainment, where personalities are increasingly building audiences across social media, television, radio and live experiences rather than remaining tied to a single platform.

HotSpot Seli new presenters bring different audiences together

Each of the three presenters arrives with a different connection to South African popular culture.

Khanyisile “Khanyi Mars” Masimola has established herself as a digital presenter specialising in artist interviews and live hosting. Her work centres African creatives and entertainment conversations, while her ambitions extend into international television, red-carpet coverage and major live stages.

Munaka Muthambi enters the show from the digital creator and lifestyle space. The Love Never Lies SA winner has built a sizeable community across Instagram and TikTok, using lifestyle and personality-driven content to connect particularly with Gen Z and millennial audiences.

Oratile “Roiii” Kgobe, meanwhile, brings experience across music, radio and digital entertainment. The rapper, radio presenter, content creator, creative director and vlogger has expanded his presence beyond music into a broader entertainment career.

Together, the trio gives SABC1 personalities capable of moving between traditional television and the digital platforms where many younger viewers already consume entertainment.

A refreshed HotSpot Seli for a changing entertainment audience

HotSpot Seli is built around taking audiences beyond the carefully managed public image of celebrities and personalities.

Rather than remaining inside a traditional studio environment, the programme moves through the spaces where entertainment and culture happen — from major events and backstage environments to restaurants, cars, homes and destinations.

That format gives the presenters an important role.

They aren’t simply introducing entertainment stories. Their personalities and interactions become part of the experience, helping viewers feel closer to the people, events and cultural moments being featured.

With Khanyi Mars, Munaka and Roiii joining the programme, SABC1 is bringing together presenters already accustomed to creating personality-led content.

HotSpot Seli new presenters connect television and digital culture

The choice of presenters is particularly interesting from a media and branding perspective.

Social platforms have changed how entertainment personalities develop their audiences. Creators can now build communities independently before moving into television, radio or other traditional media.

Munaka’s social media following is one example of that crossover. SABC1 says the creator has built a community of more than 728,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok.

Khanyi’s digital presenting background and Roiii’s combination of music, radio and content creation similarly bring existing digital experience into the television format.

For SABC1, bringing these personalities onto HotSpot Seli creates an opportunity for the programme to exist beyond its scheduled television slot.

The presenters themselves become potential bridges between broadcast audiences and social media communities.

Taking viewers where Mzansi culture happens

The refreshed season will continue HotSpot Seli’s focus on access.

Viewers can expect celebrity encounters alongside coverage of music, fashion, food, lifestyle, street culture and major entertainment experiences.

Several significant events are already expected to feature during the season, including Scorpion Kings Live, Tropika Island of Treasure, the iLembe Heritage Festival in Mandeni, the Masquerade Ball at Sun City and the Macufe Music Festival in Bloemfontein.

These environments give the programme an opportunity to capture South African entertainment outside traditional interview settings.

Backstage conversations, lifestyle experiences and spontaneous interactions can offer a different kind of entertainment storytelling — particularly when audiences increasingly expect immediate and informal access to personalities through social media.

Why personality matters for entertainment brands

For an entertainment programme such as HotSpot Seli, the presenters are also part of the show’s brand.

Their personalities influence how audiences experience interviews, events and cultural moments. That makes presenter selection about more than simply finding recognisable faces.

Khanyi Mars brings an interview-driven approach and connection to African creatives. Munaka brings lifestyle storytelling and an established digital community. Roiii brings entertainment experience spanning music, radio and online content.

That combination gives the programme several entry points into contemporary youth culture.

It also reflects how the definition of a television presenter continues to evolve. Today’s entertainment personalities frequently operate simultaneously as creators, hosts, musicians, influencers and entrepreneurs.

HotSpot Seli enters its next chapter

The refreshed season arrives as broadcasters continue competing not only with other television channels but also with the huge amount of entertainment available through digital platforms.

HotSpot Seli’s response is to lean into something television and social media both understand well: personality, access and culture.

Bringing Khanyi Mars, Munaka Muthambi and Roiii together gives the show three different voices through which to explore those spaces.

The HotSpot Seli new presenters will make their debut when the refreshed season premieres on Thursday, 1 October 2026 at 18:00 on SABC1 and SABC Plus, opening the next chapter for the entertainment lifestyle programme.

The refreshed season of HotSpot Seli introduces Khanyi Mars, Munaka Muthambi and Roiii as its new presenters, according to SABC1’s official announcement. The announcement comes shortly after Munaka appeared on the Pat on Brands Podcast, where she hinted that something big was coming — a hint that now carries even more meaning with her new role on the show.
